The White Hart at Penton Mewsey has been closed for several weeks while extensive refurbishment has taken place. The Norwick family, who own the pub, have extended the dining area, built a new kitchen and refurbished the bar. They plan to landscape the garden in the next phase of modernisation.
"This is a great Jubilee investment for the village - open in time for the celebrations. I am delighted that the range and quality of the food has been improved and I am sure the village will support the pub."

The evening before the opening, the village was invited in to sample the food. "This is a discerning village, which has dined at the best tables in Hampshire. It was impressed by the new chef."
