St Mary Bourne organised two days of events to celebrate the Jubilee, including a Ladies v Gentlemen Cricket Match - won by the Ladies - and a Jubilee Church Service held in a marquee in Stoke. There was a beer race, a cavalcade of floats, a tug-of-war and six-a-side football.
"As always, St Mary Bourne put on a series of quality events, and it was great fun to look in on some of them. Judging the best float was a serious challenge for the local MP."

Hurstbourne Tarrant put on a conventional street party, and about 600 people turned up. "This was a triumph, and Julia Halford did marvellously well to organise it. Colin Ponting was a professional MC, and there was a moving presentation to Ruth Coysh to celebrate all she has done for the village."
