A special evening at the Curry Garden Restaurant in Union St, Andover raised £1100 for Andover Hospital. Mohammed Iqbal, the Proprietor, said he would donate to the hospital the takings from food on June 5th; Sir George and Lady Young attended along with the Deputy Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Pat West and her husband Peter and Joe Scicluna - Editor of the Andover Advertiser - and his wife Margaret. Entertainment was provided by local DJ and mimic, Ray Chapman who gave his impressions of John Major, Tony Blair and other personalities.
"This was a great idea and the restaurant was packed with devotees of Indian food, who wanted to help the local Hospital. All credit to Mohammed Iqbal for this generous idea."
