NHS Trusts play an important part in the Secretary of State for Healths plans for improving the way in which the NHS provides services for patients. The NHS Appointments Commission is looking to appoint a Non-Executive Director to fill a vacancy that has arisen in West Hampshire NHS Trust

The Trust would particularly welcome applications from people who have knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and experience as a user or carer of mental health and learning disabiliy services. Experience in the finance sector and familiarity with the communities of North and Mid Hampshire is also desirable.
Candidates will need to live in the area served by West Hampshire NHS Trust and should ideally demonstrate the following skills
 leadership & motivation skills
 analytical skills & good judgement
 influencing
 team working

 as an NHS user or carer
 of community or voluntary work
of management in the public, private or voluntary sector.

The time requirement for this post is for up to 5 days per month, although candidates will need to have
a flexible approach.
