George and Aurelia Young joined 80 other riders on one of the wettest days of the year to help raise funds for the ARK at Basingstoke Hospital.
“So far £3.7 million has been raised for the ARK project, a new medical centre to be built next to Basingstoke Hospital. I was delighted to hear that, in addition to the facilities already planned, the ARK may provide a patient refuge for the specialist cancer services that will be provided there.”
Also cycling and getting wet was Myrrdin Rees, the Consultant Surgeon at the Hampshire Clinic and one of the driving forces behind the ARK.
Last year, £10,000 was raised on the Ark Fun Ride and Jackie Mann and Trisha Wilson, the organisers, are hoping for a similar sum this year.
