Basingstoke Male Voice Choir helps raise funds for Macmillan
27 Jul 2002
The Basingstoke Male Voice Choir gave a concert at the United Reform Church in Basingstoke to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
"The New Macmillan Nurse Appeal for North Hampshire is raising £180,000 to fund the appointment of a Macmillan clinician and a Macmillan Lead Cancer nurse. They will be based at Basingstoke Hospital and work alongside the three existing Macmillan hospital support nurses and the Macmillan colo-rectal nurse. The concert will also raise money for Macmillan's outpatient grant scheme, to help patients who face financial difficulties while undergoing treatment."

"The concert was marvellous, thanks to the high quality singing by the Basingstoke Male Voice Choir. Basingstoke is a match for Wales when it comes to this type of singing. It was kind of Steris, based in Basingstoke, to sponsor the event."
