JUBILEE JAMBALAYA JAZZ and PIPES, DRUMS and HIGHLAND DANCING
For the thirteenth successive year, Philip and Gill Winchcombe held a jazz concert in their garden to raise money for two charities.
The Pipes and Drums of the Netley and Hamble Royal British Legion played, and dancers put on a popular Highland display during the jazz intervals.
But the main emphasis remained on the high quality traditional jazz by Dick Cook, and his regular group drawn from the London Ragtime Orchestra, who regard this event as one of their most
enjoyable events of the year. Last year, this format resulted in
over £850 being raised for St Peter's Church St Mary Bourne, and £400 for the REME Benevolent Fund.
"Many congratulations to Philip and Gill Winchcombe for raising even more money this year, and for providing some 300 people with such wonderful entertainment. This year raised over £1156 for the Church and over £584 for REME."
