Sir George welcomes quieter surface on A34 at Whitchurch
27 Aug 2002
Sir George Young has been told by the Minister for Transport that the resurfacing of the A34(T) between Litchfield and Whitchurch has been programmed for the next financial year (2003/4) and that lower noise surfacing will be used.

"Both Whitchurch Town Council and constituents in Whitchurch and Litchfield have contacted me about the noise from the A34. With the growing volume of traffic, the noise is now more intrusive than it was when this section of the A34 was opened. I was therefore pleased to hear that, when the road is resurfaced next year, the quieter noise surfacing will be used".
