Sir George Young MP for NW Hampshire - which includes Tadley - has welcomes the consultation exercise on the future of the site.
"I have welcomed the proposals to improve the visual appearance of the site - particularly the removal of the steam pipes and the demolition of
some of the older, less attractive buildings; and to engage pro-actively with local stakeholders about the future."
"But I wonder if there is any scope for making more of the site, and more of the buildings on the site, open to broader community use? Much of what happens on the site is highly confidential and potentially dangerous; but it is a huge site and it strikes me that more of
it could be used by those who live in the area. This would strengthen the links which AWE I know is anxious to build with the local community."
