Sir George opens Living Arts and Crafts Fair in Andover
14 Sep 2002
In order to raise funds for the Air Cadets, 1213 Andover Squadron Air Training Corps put on an exhibition of Living Arts and Crafts at the Guild Hall in Andover.
"Mary Clegg did a marvellous job by providing a platform for local artists to display their wares. There were no "bought in" goods, and about fifteen local artists came along. I saw the range of local talent which we have in and around Andover."

This built on the exhibition held in Quarley earlier in the year, sponsored by Test Valley Borough Council. "This all helps to raise the profile of Andover as an artistic centre, as well as a prosperous town."

In addition to the two artists from Upper Clatford, see pictures, Sir George met Alan Jones, the woodturner; Paula Vize from Longparish, the wildlife painter; Carol Rasey from Penton and her cakecraft; and Jill Earp from Faccombe with her waistcoats.
