Guest speaker at the CWCC branch of North West Hants Conservatives was Caroline Nokes, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Romsey. The meeting wwas held at Weyhill Village Hall.
Caroline welcomed the fact that the Conservatives were now chosing more women as candidates in winnable seats, and said she was pleased that she had won the nomination in an open contest, rather than through an all-women shortlist.
She said she was looking forward to the Conservative party conference next week, where the Leader would set out some of the themes on which the next election would be fought. She referred to a recent by-election in Romsey at which the Conservatives had won a seat from the LibDems and said she was looking forward to fighting the next election, which could nearly four years away.
