Sir George meets Ashlawn Gardens residents
18 Oct 2002
Sir George and Cllr Marion Kerley met forty residents of Ashlawn Gardens to discuss pedestrian access to the Town Centre; traffic speed in Winchester Road; access to Post Boxes and other environmental issues.

"The sheltered scheme in which Ashlawn Gardens residents live is a delightful oasis in busy Andover; but it is very difficult for them to access the town centre. The pavements are uneven; wheelchairs are obstructed by electricity poles in the middle of the pavement; the road is difficult to cross to post letters. Marion Kerley and I are making slow progress with the authorities to improve the quality of life. We want to raise the stakes on the quality of the pavements as we believe this is both the most pressing issue, and the easiest one to resolve."
