Residents in Droxford Crescent and Ropley Close were surprised to discover that the field next to their development was on a shortlist of 28 sites in the Basingstoke and Deane draft plan, and zoned for 15-20 low cost and affordable homes.
"Although the site was included in last year's long list of 230 potential sites, none of the residents appeared to be aware of this. The publicity was clearly not as thorough as it might have been."
"As a green field site, it is clearly less suitable than brownfield sites in the area, and I hope the residents are able to catch up lost time and make a convincing case for the Borough to think again."
