Guest Speaker at the Conservative Luncheon Club, held at the Grosvenor Hotel, Stockbridge was Andrew Mitchell, MP for Sutton Coldfield, and son of Sir David Mitchell, the former MP for North West Hants.

Addressing a capacity audience, Andrew Mitchell said that five policies should be at the centre of Conservative policy, as it developed over the coming months.
First, we should focus on the Nation State, and not allow the UK to be divided into Regions, which were then subsumed into a European State
Second, we should localise - not centralise - and evolve decision making down to the lowest level possible.
Third, we should rebuild our support in the inner cities where Conservative representation was at an all-time low.
Fourth, we should encourage people to make independent provision for health and education through the tax system and
Fifth, we should re-establish the Conservative Party as the Party of low taxation.

He said the Conservative Party should be proud of its past; and should now focus on the failings of the Labour Government.
