Cherished China, run by Mandy Hobson, has moved to new premises at Weyhill Fair, where Sir George performed the official opening.
"Penton Grafton Parish Council is redeveloping the Weyhill Fairground site, which dates back to the 13th century, to provide a total of 11 purpose-built modern workshops for local craftsmen and women. They have retained the shape and character of the original fairground booths and surrounding cob walls."

"Cherished China is the first business to move in. Mandy Hobson offers the creative opportunity for young and old to decorate - with expert guidance if required - items of unglazed pottery. These are then glazed and kiln-baked."

"John Payne - the Chairman of the Parish Council - is to be congratulated for driving forward this vision of a craft centre, converting an unattractive brownfield site into a place for the enthusiast and the casual visitor."

With Sir George was Cllr Caroline Nokes, Test Valley Borough Council's Arts and Leisure Portfolio Holder.
