At the end of a one-day conference called "e-Democracy Exchange" there was a question-and-answer session chaired by Dan Jellinek of E-Government Bulletin. MP's from all three parties answered questions on the accessibility of MP's by email, changes to the methods of voting to include electronic voting, and Lottery funding for developers of e-democracy applications and services.
None of the MP's favoured the latter; on e-voting, the view was that the main reason why people didn't vote was that they didn't want to vote. Changing how they voted to include electronic voting would make, at best, a marginal difference and there were risks with some of the new systems.
