Duck Race raises funds in Monxton
24 May 2003
The 6th Annual Duck Race was held in Monxton, with yellow plastic ducks, bought for £1, being launched into the Pilhill Brook at the bridge, with the finishing post conveniently located in the grounds of the Black Swan downstream.
A series of races was held, raising funds for Amport School PTA and Monxton Village Hall. Visitors could also enjoy raffles, stalls and children's games on the green.
Together with the Hog Roast at the Black Swan, some £1200 was raised.
