St Mary Bourne holds 14th Annual Tennis Tournament
1 Jun 2003
Over one hundred people entered the Windmill Hill Bourne Valley 14th Annual Tennis Tournament, held at twelve tennis courts in and around St Mary Bourne. The money raised goes towards Bourne Valley Churches.

"The quality of the tennis seems to get higher each year, but there is still the same friendly atmosphere. There are no Mcenroe tantrums in St Mary Bourne."

The finals were played at Medhurst and followed by supper.

Windmill Hill Place Tennis and Golf Academy generously sponsored the tournament, providing the prizes. The event made £900 to be divided between churches in H Tarrant, H Priors, Longparish and St Mary Bourne

"Many congratulation to Philip Winchcombe for the logistical triumph in getting over a hundred people to play in a tournament; and our thanks to him and Gill for their hospitality at their home"

The tournament was won by Sarah Mitchell and Fred Azalbert.
