Continuing his visits to factories and offices in Andover, Sir George visited Sealock Ltd on the Walworth Estate.
Founded by John Young in 1983, Sealock is a leading independent hot melt and acqueous adhesives manufacture - glue.

"Sealock have now completed the move to their new £1 .2M purpose built factory in Andover. This new facility provides almost twice the previous floor area and additional land has been acquired for future expansion."
"I was enormously impressed with how environmentally friendly the building is. It re-uses all process cooling water, low energy
lighting has been installed , and the heat extracted by chillers is recycled and used both for hot melt production and to partially heat the factory during the winter"

Some 18 people work in the factory, with five salesmen on the road. The company is owned by John Young and his family.

"This is a well-run company, competing in a very competitive market. We must make sure that these companies are not stifled by regulation, and that the overheads of operating in the UK remain in line with those of our European competitors."
