The Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Mary Fagan, formally opened the enlarged building for the Kingsclere Village Club. With her are Sir George Young, and the Mayor and Mayoress of Basingstoke and Deane, Cllr Lynden Jones.
“I hold my Advice Bureau in the Village Hall, and greatly welcome the improvements to the building. I can now hold my advice bureau on the ground floor, which is more easily accessible than the room I used to use upstairs.”
The improvements were made possible by grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Hampshire
County Council, and Basingstoke and Deane Council. The plaque bears the name of those who helped, and the proceedings were masterminded by Peter Woodman, Chairman of the Management Committee
