A meeting of the Test Valley Partnership was held on 20 June 2003, where a draft Community Strategy for Test Valley was presented and discussed. This represented an important stage in the community planning process.
"This meeting was one of the few times when representatives from all local organisations and agencies have an opportunity to come together to plan for the future of the area. The views put forward will be reflected in the Community Strategy, which will describe a shared long-term vision for Test Valley and set out some priorities for action."
Those attending the meeting heard presentations on how the draft Community Strategy will enable local people to enjoy a better quality of life through partners working together to improve:
Community Safety
The Environment
Transport
Education & Learning
Health and Well-being
Economic Development
Housing & Community Development, and
Leisure & Culture

"I wasn't able to stay for the whole event, but heard the three opening talks. It is obviously a good idea to bring together all those in the public, private and voluntary sectors in the area, to see how we can work together more closely, add value to the work each other does and try to reflect local priorities in what we all do."
