Sir George took part in UNICEF’s “Put it to your MP” Day by going to Mark Way School in Andover, and allowing himself to be cross-questioned, along with Pat Francis from Unicef, by the pupils.
“Unicef are teaching children about their rights – particularly the rights of children in other countries who do not enjoy access to food, shelter and water. These rights are enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child”
On local issues, pupils were concerned about the absence of facilities for young people in Andover, and the difficulties of getting around safely by bicycle.
