Along with 500 other MP's, Sir George spent Saturday morning receiving petitions from constituents on Trade Justice.
He started off at the Andover Methodist Church in Bridge St, Andover.
"Over the past few years, many more constituents have written to me about issues concerning the Third World, trade barriers, debt write-off and related matters. This is a tribute to the campaigns, many Church based, to raise the profile of the issue and bring political pressure to bear on it."
"We debated this last Wednesday, and it was good to see the degree of agreement on all sides of the House on the matter."
Sir George will be taking the petitions he collected to Westminster on Monday.
