1213 Andover Squadron Air Training Corps held a Live Arts and Craft Fair in the Guild Hall, Andover - providing a show case for local artists.

Gabrielle Preedy was displaying her stained glass, Patricia Hilton-Robinson her glass engravings, and Lucy Henzell Thomas her paintings and illustrations.
Other artists included Stan Hurr, the pastel artist, and Rosemary and Alex Fox their gemstone and semi-precious stone jewellery.

"David and Mary Clegg did a fine a job in launching this fair, opened by the Mayor Pat West. It reminds us of the high quality of our local artists, and gives local people an opprtunityt o support and encourage them by buying their work."

The 1213 Andover Squadron of the Air Training Corps is holding an exciting and very different fundraising event. They are holding an exhibition of talented artists and craftspeople from in and around Andover.
The idea is for members of the public to see for themselves the wealth of talent in this area from pottery, sculpture, woodcarving, stained glass, landscape and silk painters, to blacksmithing, quilting, sugar crafting, hand made clothes and many more. In many cases you will be able to see the craftsperson at work and buy or commission a piece.
No items have been bought in - that's what makes it so special!!!
This will be a great opportunity for the public to purchase unusual and original Christmas presents. As before a local celebrity will be asked to officiate to gain further publicity. Last year's event was a very successful launch of what we hope will be an annual event.
We will again be providing refreshments and the cadets will be there to promote the squadron.
Why not come along to Andover's Guildhall and join in the fun?
For your information the ATC is a charity dedicated to young people between the ages of 13 - 19, partly supported by the RAF for the flying support but all other activities such as adventure training, summer camps, and welfare support has to be raised by our committee. The youngsters involved really do benefit from this exposure by becoming more confident and articulate; they learn team and leadership skills from which they benefit in employment and throughout their lives.
