Guest Speaker at the Winton Ward Supper, held at the Bonhomie Centre in Southend Rd Andover was Mollie Antrobus, Chief Executive of Andover Mencap.
Mollie Antrobus, who has no political affiliations, was asked to talk about the NHS, in which she had spent the bulk of her working life.
She made a plea for greater stability and fewer initiatives so that those working in the health service could focus on patient care. Her audience were amazed by the proliferation of bodies that had responsibilties within the NHS, and by the constant changes of structures.
Thanking her for her contribution, Sir George said that the golden age of Andover Hospital was in the 1990's, when Mollie Antrobus and Robert Sloane had been in charge.

The theme of the evening was an American Cowboy evening.
