The venue for Kingsclere Art Society's 7th Exhibition was the Kingsmill Room at St Mary's Church. The exhibition was held in the memory of Daphne Dalgleish who died last year, and who organised the first exhibition in 1994. Her son Jasper spoke at the opening of the three day exhibition, and said he knew his mother would be following the proceedings from above, with a Cheshire smile on her face. He welcomed the news that the proceeds from the exhibition would go towards the restoration of the fabric of the Church.
The exhibition was organised by Lynda Elvin and Jane Baikie, who were thanked by the Co-Chair of the Friends of St Marys, Carole Green, who welcomed the guests at the launch.
"There was a splendid range of paintings on display, many of which had red dots on them after a few minutes of the exhibition opening. Ken Turner had some splendid paintings on display, as did some of the lesser known local artists."
