Sponsored by Hampshire County Council under the "Hog the Limelight" initiative which brings live music to village halls, Julie Felix played to a packed village hall in Appleshaw.
"For many of us in Appleshaw, it was very nostalgic. I hadn't heard Julie Felix for about 40 years when she was with David Frost on "That was the Week that was." She is now 65, and had weathered better than many of her fans in the hall."
"Her songs were in part from the '60s, but also later songs some of which she wrote herself. There was an element of sadness in many of them - as the optimism and idealism of her youth had been tempered by the realisation that the world is not the better place that she hoped it to be. She is a great guitarist and entertainer; unlike may others, her words are audible and thoughtful and she plays at a volume that is easy to listen to. She is very professional, and I am delighted that she is performing in other village halls in the constituency. If you get the chance, go along. You will enjoy it"
