The Mayor of Test Valley and Sir George Young visited the premises of Armchair Answercall in the Walworth Enterprise Centre in Andover. Chris Moon, Non-executive Director, Abbie Harrison, Operations Director and Gina Gower-Jones, Commercial Director explained the objectives of the company, answered questions and showed the guests round the units of the centre where the operations are based.
Armchair has 1157 clients and 47 employees. It was founded four years ago and, at a time when some call centres are relocating overseas, it is winning new business for Andover.
"Armchair Answercall is used by many small and medium sized businesses that cannot afford a full-time telephonist/receptionist, but know they will lose business if their customers get an engaged tone, voicemail or no reply."

"Calls are redirected to Armchair Answercall, who answer the telephone on behalf of the company. They can handle many of the queries directly, filter calls and pass on urgent messages. I was impressed by the professionalism of whose answering the calls, and by the technology that underpins the system."

"More and more businesses are having to cope with the regulations of employing staff directly - and the associated costs. This is leading them to outsource a number of functions, enabling them to focus on their priorities. As someone who has been irritated by having to sit at the end of a telephone being told that my call is important, the personal service offered by Armchair Answercall is a tremendous improvement."
