Parents, pupils, teachers and governors turned out on a Sunday to clear the grounds of Winton school and the playing grounds that are used by four other schools.
"Over the years, a lot of litter has accumulated in the grounds - not all of it put there by pupils. We had a blitz on Sunday morning and cleared dozens of sacks full of litter. We had about 40 people helping including the Head, Andrew Smith and Marion Kerley, one of the local councillors and a Governor, and fellow Governor Jim Todd and his wife."
"By 12.30, approximately 40 bags of rubbish had been collected."
