Members of all political parties celebrated the return of beef on the bone to the Refreshment Department at the House. Nick Brown, Agriculture Minister, Tim Yeo, Shadow Minister, and Sir George Young were amongst a number of MP's who accepted an invitation from Dennis Turner MP, Chairman of the Catering Committee,to eat beef from the bone on the first day it was legal to do so. "It would have been better had the ban been lifted earlier" said Sir George "but I hope the industry can now begin to recover from all its recent problems."
