The Andover Choral Society, with the Anton Sinfonia, performed Dvorak's Stabat Mater at St Mary's Church.
"With their new conductor, David Owen Norris and some star soloists, this was a memorable performance of a work that is not performed that often. There was some powerful singing from the chorus, particularly the final Amen."

The soloists were Amanda Pitt, Soprano; Beverley Mills, Contralto; Andrew Kennedy, Tenor; and Peter Savidge, Bass.

Before the concert, William Bowley - who has been with the Society for 40 years, was presented with a cheque to commemorate his time with the Society.

"The Society is lucky to have a conductor of the quality of David Owen Norris - who is about to go to Salzburg for three concerts in the week."
