Sir George visited Andover Sorting Office on December 23rd, to see how Royal Mail were coping with the Christmas Post. “The postmen have been hit by flu – like so many people in Andover. But they were managing to cope.”
Sir George takes some of the pressure off his local postman, Andy Duff, by collecting his own post from the sorting office. He was shown round by Geoff Yates, the manager and met many of the 105 people who work in Andover.
“I was impressed by how well they knew their rounds and the people they delivered to. And a 5am start is not everyone’s cup of tea!”
