Barclays Bank volunteers landscape school grounds
21 May 2004
A team of volunteers from Barclays Bank volunteered to tidy up and landscape the grounds at Sherborne St John Primary School. Gina Moore, who works at the bank and whose daughter Skye attends the school, nominated this as one of the projects supported by the bank. Employees are given time off and, in this case, £500 was also donated by the bank for plants and materials.

"A total of 70 hours was spent on the garden, removing weeds, planting shrubs and laying gravel. It has transformed the outside of the school and is a wonderful example of how a major local employer can invest in the community."

Three generations of Moores were present, as Gina's mother also came to lend a hand.
