Testway Housing, the largest landlord in the borough and owners of nine Sheltered Housing Schemes arranged a tea party in each of their schemes.
"I hope we all get into the Guinness Book of Records" said Sir George as he poured out the tea at St Ann's House in Andover. "This initiative will raise the profile of sheltered housing - which provides the right balance of independence and support"
"We are fortunate to have so many good schemes in and around Andover."
Sir George us concerned that new arrangemnts for housing finance may put pressure on these schemes. "The Government is making some changes to the Supporting People Programme, which may shortchange housing associations that run schemes that do more than provide basic housing.I will be keeping an eye on this."
