As part of the bank's policy of giving employees time off to work on voluntary projects, local employees of Barclays Bank spent the day at Andover Church of England School in East St.
Penny Guilford, whose children attend the school and who works at Barclays in Andover, nominated the school as a project and, while the school was closed for a training day, she and her colleagues repainted some of the rooms in the school.
"This has certainly brightened up the cloakroom, and is a first class example of local firms helping local schools. Barclays has already provided some benches for the school (see picture) and I welcome this initiative."
Some of the children came along to help.
