St Mary Bourne held its 57th Flower Show and Fete on the Recreating Ground, raising money for local causes. It featured a fairground organ, bouncy castles, tortoise racing, a scarecrow competition and many sideshows. In the marquee were the entries for the horticultural show.
Last year, the Horticultural Society Committee gave £2000 to local organisations such as the Derrydown Surgery, the Bowls Club, Naomi House and the Priors Players.
"The Chairman Phyllida Mitchell and her committee did a good job in arranging another succesful fete and show. Hugo Wurzer on the announcer gave the whole event an aura of professionalism."
