After 43 years of running the Lamb in Andover, the Rickard family is returning the lease to the brewers, Wadsworth.
Anthony Rickard - son of Leonie, the popular landlady who ran the pub until she died earlier this year - threw a final farewell party for friends and regulars. Amongst those present were Joe Scicluna, Editor of the Andover Advertiser and his wife Margaret; County Cllr David Kirk and his wife Tracey; Cllr Marion Kerley and Jock Kerley - and many others who hasd fond memories of the Lamb.
"Leonie was a generous, warm-hearted person, who was forever raising funds for charity. It was appropriate that we celebrated the evening by pushing over the latest mountain of coins and then counting it."
Wadsworth are looking for new tenants, but so far have not made any appointment.
