The `Thanks a Watt' appeal took place in the Guildhall, Andover, on Saturday 25 September last, organised by Reg and Wendy Wood of Suffolk Road, Andover.
The target figure of £1,500 was well and truly reached, and the whole evening raised £1,067.00 for the appeal and ongoing Kenya Aid projects in the Katangi-Machakos region occupied by the Akamba tribe of south-east Kenya.

The appeal was aimed at providing solar panels to a small dispensary hospital providing light for the building and power for a refrigerator where medicines are stored, in a remote area of Kenya by Christmas 2004.
