Sir George attended a meeting at Monxton Village Hall, convened by Monxton Parish Council, to discuss the problems posed by the growing volumwe of traffic through the village, and possible solutions.
"Leon Allen and the Monxton Traffic Group have put a lot of work into analysing what has happened over recent months. There are real concerns over the speed of traffic, and the size of some of the lorries. The narrow high street simply cannot cope, and recent traffic calming measures don't appear to have helped."

"The reduction in the weight limit on the bridge at Red Post Lane may help, and the approach to local businesses to use smaller lorries where possible may also help, together with a better designed traffic calming regime on the approaches to the village, indicating who had priority."

"The meeting indentified future action and I want to do all I can to help."
