Opening the new driving range at Test Valley Golf Club near Overton, Sir George said he welcomed the investment in the club by its new owners.

"At the beginning of this year, the ownership of Test Valley was taken over by Re-Org Solutions. Since that time a tremendous effort has been put in by all concerned to improve the course, clubhouse and facilities. This has largely been possible as a result of extensive investment into all areas of the club. This has earned Test Valley a fantastic reputation throughout the region for providing great value Golf.

The new Golf Academy that comprises a 10 bay driving range & short game practice area will not only allow Club members to improve their golf, but also underlines the seriousness and long term commitment at Test Valley to make golf affordable for young boys and girls.

With this in mind the Young Masters Golf coaching scheme that has been running over the past year will be developed even further to achieve the objective of attracting more young people to play golf. This will ultimately encourage fresh blood not only into the game but also the Club itself.

This exciting project is only part of Re-Org’s long term development programme for Test Valley Golf Club, other exciting plans to improve the facilities are well under way."

Sir George presented certificates and a book about Tiger Woods to six young golfers.
