The Rev Martin Coppen became the Rev Canon Martin Coppen at a service held in Winchester Cathedral, where he was installed as an Honorary Canon. He looks after the four parishes of Hurstbourne Priors, Longparish, St Mary Bourne and Woodcott.
His parishioners celebrated the event at St Mary Bourne Village Centre, where they presented him with a stole and a cake.
"This recognises Martin's contribution to his rural ministry and his work in and around the diocese. He is enormously popular in the villages, and we are all hoping he will stay here until his retirement."
