Tadley switches on Christmas lights
26 Nov 2004
Cllr David Leeks was the Master of Ceremonies at the Switching on of the Lights at Tadley.
The Rev Sammie Armstrong, from Churches around Tadley, put the celebrations in a religious context, before handing over to Cllr Jo Slimmin, Chairman of Tadley Town Council, who thanked all those involved in organising the event. Sir George brought good wishes from Westminster, said he had enjoyed joining in the carol-singing withy his wife - accompanied by the Tadley Band - and doing his Christmas shopping at the Christmas Market. The lights were switched on by Sue Nash, whose late husband ran A Nash Besom Brooms in Tadley.
