Always enjoyable and this year raising a record sum, Highclere and East Woodhay branch of North West Hants Conservatives staged their annual 'Bangers and Mash lunch' on Saturday 4th December.

"As well as a good turn out from the branch, and visitors from other branches and from Newbury, it was a great pleasure to be joined by my predecessor Sir David Mitchell, who has attended every bangers and mash lunch for forty years! I have thirty-two more to go to to match his record."

After lunch. Committee member John 'Max' Maxwell, chairman of East Woodhay Parish Council spoke. (He has recently been selected as prospective candidate for Whitchurch and Clere in the County elections.)
