Sir George attended the official opening of the Accident Shop in Union St, Andover and welcomed the services it provided.
"We all have a responsibility to avoid accidents and to be accountable for what we do; but if we are the victims of negligence then we need professional and impartial advice about what to do. I am delighted that this well-established local firm of solicitors, Barker Son and Isherwood, have set up this separate operation in Andover - the first of its kind in the country."

He spoke after Richard Gregory - a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel - explained the thinking behind the expansion. "Barker Son and Isherwood has conducted Personal Injury Claims on behalf of clients for some time, but we have recently seen this work move away from solicitors in favour of claims handlers, some of whom have a poor reputation and have provided a bad service. We believe there is a market for solicitors to focus on providing a high quality service for clients here. So we have set up this separate operation, in relaxed and friendly surroundings - and the initial response has been very favourable."

The Accident Shop offers a full accident compensation recovery service, on a no-win/no-fee basis.
