Sherborne St John holds James Bond Casino Evening
26 Feb 2005
Carrying on with the sequence of events for the Village Hall Building Fund, Sherborne St Johh held a James Bond Casino Evening. Over a hundred people packed into the Chute Pavilion and , after their three course meal, collected their chips for Blackjack and Roulette.

"Ed Hall and the team comprising Sue Burlingham, Pat Burt, Angela McArt and Arabella Davies did a first class job in running the event, with some croupiers straight from Casino Royale. Aurelia and I lost all our chips quite quickly, but we were happy to know that this helped raise funds for the new village hall."

The village has raised some £60,000 itself; but with donations from the National Lottery, Basingstoke and Deane, Garfield Weston Trust and Onyx (from the Landfill Tax, the target of some £360,000 has almost been reached.
