Sir George revisited Andover's Bingo Hall in Junction Road to brief Linda Mitchell, the General Manager, about the progress of the Gaming Bill through Parliament, and to meet some of the regular customers.
"Many Andover people wrote to me about the Gaming Bill - and they are worried about unfair competition from US companies. Many measures in the Bill are welcome - abolishing the need to join 24 hours before you can play, and allowing rollovers. But there is concern about Las Vegas type casinos in the UK."

Sir George told Linda that, if Parliament was dissolved next week, the Bill could be a casualty. "I imagine that both Houses will only let it through quickly if the controversial sections are dropped."
