Ending his tour of duty in Newbury with Richard Benyon, Sir George canvassed round Greenham Common - including a visit to Young Crescent.
"I think the result in Newbury will be desperately close - Richard has eroded the LoibDem majority over the last two elections and one more heave should get him over the line."
After a morning's campaigning in Greenham Common, the two men ended up in Newbury at the Crafty Fair where, by tradition, flour is thrown from bridges on those who have come by boat from Hungerford.
