At the pre-season Cheese and Wine Party at the London Rd Pavilion, Sir George pledged his support for the Lottery application to rebuild the pavilion – shown above.
“Andover Cricket Club applied for a lottery grant for an extension to the current building, which was rejected. I understand the Lottery Board were worried about adding new to old. So the Club is putting in a new application for indoor nets, as well as a pavilion and other facilities that can be used by the community. I wholly heartedly back this application and have told the club I will support it.”
Andover Cricket Club takes part in the Gold League, which includes Hampshire’s top ten teams, and will be participating in the ECB Premier League this season. It is organising a sponsored walk on April 21st to raise funds for the Club and for Mencap.
