The Village of Faccombe recreated the atmosphere of the Second World Way in a celebration to commemorate VE Day.
"People living in the village went to great trouble to dress up in appropriate uniforms and contemporary dress; and there was a splendid party at the end of the day in one of the barns onn the Faccombe Estate. Simon, the Landlord at the Jack Russell, and Keith Chegwin did a superb job in organising and hosting this event, which attracted people from villages all around."

Money raised from the day will go towards an improved children's playground for the village.
