Andover cancer patient Derek Robinson starred in an item on Andover Hospital on BBC South Today.
"I admire the courage of Derek Robinson, who is clearly seriously ill but is determined to carry on fighting for improved services at Andover Hospital. I am planning to attend the public meeting he is organising on August 16th, when the future of the hospital can be discussed."
Because of financial problems facing local NHS Trusts, a number of options are being considered to save money - although Health Chiefs say their objective is to improve services.
"My number one priority at the moment is to see a new Outpatients Department at Andover Hospital. The current one is straight out of a 1950's Carry On Nurse movie."
